Asian American Flavors

Ube Coconut

Crispy, chewy and creamy, this cookie is one of my favorites! Ube is a purple yam from the Philippines, often used in desserts. It’s unique flavor pairs especially well with coconut, creating an unforgettable flavor combo reminiscent of a tropical vacation.

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, Ube halaya(Ube, condensed milk, coconut milk, sugar) Ube extract, shredded coconut.

Black Sesame Cookies N’ Cream

I wanted to combine my love for Black sesame which appears in many Chinese desserts with the nostalgia of chocolate sandwich cookies from my childhood. The flavors and sweet and toasty creating a chewy whimsical cookie.

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, Black sesame powder, chocolate sandwich cookies.

Matcha Pistachio

Inspired by a dessert served at Ippudo NY, this is my cookie version! An earthy green tea cookie studded with bright chunks of pistachios and creamy white chocolate. It’s a little crunchy, a little creamy, a little bitter and sweet. It’s a taste and texture you’re gonna want over and over again!

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, matcha powder, white chocolate, pistachios.

Pandan with Toasted Rice

Pandan is a plant used in South East Asian cooking. Known for its fragrant aroma, its flavor has grassy notes mixed with rice. For this cookie, I made my own pandan extract to get a deeper flavor and paired it with coconut and toasted sweet rice to help highlight its distinct flavor.

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, shredded coconut, Pandan water/extract, toasted sweet rice.

Red Bean Mochi

Sweet red beans are used in many desserts around Asia. Sweet, creamy and earthy, the red bean paste is mixed into the cookie dough and swirled with sweet chewy mochi. The mochi rice cake melts into the cookie as it bakes adding a whole different level of chew to the cookie. It’s something that’s totally addictive and so much fun to eat!

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips.

Vietnamese Coffee with Cocoa Nibs

Rich, strong and flavorful Vietnamese coffee is my favorite mid afternoon treat! I paired this intense coffee with bitter cocoa nibs and a sweet and salty condensed milk glaze for balance. It’s the perfect afternoon pick me up!

Ingredients: Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, water, flour, baking soda, salt, coffee, cocoa nibs, instant Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk glaze (condensed milk, powdered sugar, salt)
